Pros

The community is passionate about the people and services they provide at their local hospitals. The benefits of the organization are comparable to other health care systems in the market. It provides tuition reimbursement for all levels of advanced degrees -other health care systems do not offer tuition reimbursement past undergraduate degrees.

Cons

Morale is low throughout the organization. Career opportunities within my field are limited. Does not have a strong diversity program/policy.

Pros

In some divisions there is great culture and work/life balance, while in others I hear it is very oppressive. It depends on which area you are working.

Cons

I've worked here for over a decade and they have the absolute worst benefit package of any employer I've worked for - which are several. They tout themselves as offering a great benefits package but their insurance plan requires you to use their doctors to receive in-network benefits and if they don't have someone available in their hospital/clinic system in a specialty you need, they require you to drive to Madison to seek services through UW Health rather than visit a competing healthcare provider locally who has numerous capable doctors that could be options.
