Pros

You might get to work from home and you get paid.

Cons

From the top down, mortgage servicing in the Daytona office is badly structured. The department head (lets call her Marrol Lann) is completely hands off. I have been at the company for a long time (years) and she's only come to our office maybe 3 times. The senior manager(lets call him BleeFay) is a mess. He is all over the place but solves nothing. Instead of actually leading the department, he likes to micro manage things all the way down to the phone agent level. Other management seem to be out of the loop and have to constantly reach out to him for updates and responses for things asked about ages ago. It gets real annoying to have a supervisor, team lead or quality tell you multiple times that they asked him about something but haven't heard back. Besides that, the guy is walking HR violation. Gaslighting to the extreme is his expertise and he plays favorites like no other. It's like he went to college and got a master's degree in being unfair and a bachelors in BS. The other supervisors beneath him seem to deal with it and make do but others are unfortunately a lot like him. Management is a mix of helpful and knowledgeable to down right "how do you still have a job here?" incompetent and shady. I have figured out out how to get thru the day for years now and have become really good at navigating this mess of a department. It's a toxic work environment for my friends that work here but I'm lucky I guess because I think I am one of the favorites. I see how other ppl get treated and it's just unfair. No room for advancement unless you apply for a position in a different department. Bonus is paid monthly IF they remember to pay you the bonus. Support staff doesn't support much, you're kind of on your own. Feedback is meh at best. I think I can make it here until I finish college and get my degree next year because I know there is an end to working in this mess. If you think you can handle something like this, go ahead and apply. Otherwise it might be best to just look somewhere else.

Pros

Managers are flexible with time off and remote work when needed. Whole team is very helpful when diagnosing user issues. Local team is fun to work with.

Cons

Smaller team, so there's a large amount on everyone's plate (they seem to be expanding to resolve this) Is an in-person role first, So remote work is not allowed on a permanent basis.
