Pros
The work environment is great! You will always be appreciated by your team lead and help is always there. I’ve never had to worry about job security and I’m always told I’m doing a great job. Currently, most others only have to come into the office once a month but a few others like myself have to come in once a week. This is good for most who only have to come in once a month (when you’re fully trained). You get gainshare, which is a company wide bonus, but the percentage fluctuates depending on how well the company profits. Your PTO is cumulative, so this could be good or bad depending on how often you use PTO and the length of time you’ve been there. If you’re really big into culture and diversity, they’re huge on that here. They really embrace it.
Cons
Pay is not that great. They say they compare to other job markets but I have doubts about that. I have a CPC certification and I don’t get compensated for that, although the company does pay for your renewal. I was switched into a position where I do more work now but am still at the same level (lateral move). There are others who have worked the same years who are also at the same level ans myself and get paid the same as me but I do a lot more work. Although I love my team lead and my coworkers, it’s really frustrating my only compensation is being told “you’re doing a great job” rather than being compensated for taking on work that was previously done by people who were several levels higher than me. It really feels like they put profit before you. You get some holidays off but if the holiday falls on a weekend, you only get cumulative PTO for that holiday throughout the year so it’s not like it falls in the day before/after the weekend. You don’t get Black Friday off either.
