Pros

Nice office, desks, equipment, and at some locations, amazing options for employees. Workers are family. Pay used to be great... lots and lots of time off. multiple benefits options. Lots of learning, training, etc. Company vehicles., decent equipment, perks here and there.

Cons

Company vehicles do not have bathrooms. taking time off only penalizes your fellow team mates. Employee recognition no longer exists, advancement no longer exists, sure, you can move to another state but who can afford to move for 1,000 more a year??? No more upward mobility. Impossible metrics... It was a great opportunity when I started a long time ago... people were moving up, incredible opps, salaries, on and on... so I came aboard and fell into chaos, stupidity, and turnover like a pancakes on an IHOP grill. Out of 100, maybe 10 of us survived... its not a job for many. Here is what you have to understand: No matter the company, its a for profit business... shareholders and board members demand the $$$$$, and boy do they get it. Preaching about the customer, integrity, on and on... Preaching about the employees, do what they can to keep them, on and on... all of it is BS... its a business. They care about the bottom line, plain and simple. I get it... I completely understand, and if you dont or disagree... you cant work in a business like this. The american dream is here... its called GREED. LIke good ol Gordo says... Greed is good! If you cant work hard, done apply, if you cant say no, dont apply, if you cant kiss booty dont apply, if you care about customers, dont apply. If you care about making money and making your manager look good to keep your job, then jump on it and come aboard. The truth? all companies are the same... they are all about the bottom line people. M O N E Y Just try and get you some too. There is plenty of money, you just have to sift it from all the bull shot they hand you.

Pros

None. The food in the cafe was good but they were rarely open (pre-covid) but that's even barely a pro to this terrible company.

Cons

Though the job pay is decent it is NOT worth the trouble this company puts you through. They even have an ongoing joke that was told to us in training by THE trainers, that most people don't last a year past training at this job. Why would you openly joke about your EXTREMELY high turnover rate? Also the management is so poor that when you request a transfer from HR to another manager you're told "we don't allow transfers because you could end up getting a worse supervisor and then keep asking for a transfer and we can't keep accommodating that." So you are specifically told that none of their managers are good so you have to stick with the one you have. Even after you've complained about targeting and mismanagement just because your supervisor does not personally like you. I've worked at call centers before and this call center is by far the worst. They're motto is toxic positivity is better than no positivity. This company surrounds you with a blanket of toxic positivity "culture" to try to make up for the constant verbal abuse you endure from the customers. When you're getting 75-100 calls a day of people calling to verbally abuse you management does little to care or help and then they get upset when you try to take time off to save your sanity. I've seen grown men break down and cry on the floor because the calls are so terrible and they have no support from management, only to quit the next day. The benefits and pay alone are not enough to work here.

Pros

I would definitely say starting off with Progressive and going into training, I was wowed. Everyone was so nice, the pay was OK to start off with. The training seem effortless, though there is so much to learn and so little time, I was at ease that my job would be pretty easy once I got started. The benefits have been OK, and the fact that the paychecks are consistent has also been good.

Cons

However, there are things in training that they do not tell you about specifically surrounding sales tactics. In the job description when applying they tell you it is not a sales call and they do not tell you that you were responsible for Sales. In training they tell you that is not a cells causing you are not responsible for Sales but that you should mention to customers if they have any PHA offers. However when you get started, the pressure is on about pushing those sales. If you do not meet those sale goals, You are constantly harassed about it. And the crazy thing about it is that you are harassed in a way that makes it seem like it’s still not your duty but you have to ask questions this way or that way. Progressive is a money hungry company and cares nothing about their employees. Working here during a pandemic has been a complete nightmare. You would think that Progressive would be a little bit more lenient when it comes to trying to push those sales Two customers Who can’t even pay their bills. Not to mention they are also raising the rates during this time as well. The job has been a nightmare with in the last few months and I am unfortunately Stuck. HR does not care about your mental health and does not work with you on any accommodations even if you have a doctors note. Even if you have a disability, they are still pushing the issue that you need to be there. Call volume is ridiculous, you’re constantly making corrections of agents who are not trained from progressive but sell insurance to progressive and know nothing of what they’re doing. We are constantly correcting the errors of multiple sales consultants and agents and we have to be the ones to deal with it. It is above the paygrade that we are given to do such things. And last but not lease, The customer are nasty and rude. And you have to deal with those calls sometimes back to back to back to back with three seconds to breathe between the next call. There is no leniency when it comes to adherence so it is difficult to keep a work life balance working here at Progressive. So if you have a life outside of Progressive that you value I would recommend not working here at all. They care nothing about you here. I have struggled with mental health before and working here has just made it even worse. Even with doctors permits, and schedule arrangements that were recommended by a doctor, they still don’t care. It really sucks working here but due to the situation were in I have to stay here because no one else is hiring. You would think that during a pandemic there would be things a company with you to work with the public, but instead the company increased rates all around. And they also increase the sales goals for service consultants at the start of the pandemic. Least to say, Progressive is a money hungry corporate machine making inconsiderate And inhumane company. Do not work here.
