Pros

Gainshare aka yearly bonus. Decent yearly salary. Freedom to come and go as you please in regards to your workday. Vacation time.

Cons

If you want to do halfway decent at your job you will need to be willing to work around 50 hours a week. You will find yourself working overtime everyday and taking the work home just to stay afloat. It's impossible to do everything you have to do in a day within 8 hours. Regardless of how much you do, it is never enough. You will not be trained properly to do the job and it is understood that you will pretty much schlep through the job for at least the first year until you find your way. Supervisors are hardly available when you need them. On a Monday or Saturday you can easily receive 7 or more new claims and you are still expected to contact every party involved in the claim within 24 hours, take inbound available calls, and take care of your prior claims without letting anything fall behind.

Pros

A typical large corporation that follows all the stereotypes, so there is at least a predictability to their faults. They pay too little for the work. Raises are a joke. Management is too concerned with impressing their bosses than actually making their teams better. Get ready to be looked over for promotions, unless you are an insufferable suck up.

Cons

Your mental health will degrade faster than a prisoner in solitary confinement. You will not be shown appreciation for anything, You will not be valued. The company will spend millions on marketing and for articles written about how great the company is, but will never give a decent raise. You are a cog in a giant machine that can be replaced with a quickness. It is a company that requests feedback on how they can improve, but if you criticize anything about the company especially management, you are public enemy #1 and a way to get rid of you will be manufactured.

Pros

Pros are that it starts off slow and training is very easy. But that is a false picture of the job.

Cons

I don't know where to start. The fact that training presented a false picture of the job and covers about half of what you need to know. The training wasn't specific to my state either. After training they start you off slow. However, be prepared for no support. My manager told me she never onboarded a new hire and wasn't sure what to do. So she did the bare minimum. She was barely available for help. She would only forward procedures. It is hard to learn with no help with a remote job. The customers are awful. Everybody lies to you on top of not understanding their own policy. You aren't provided with enough knowledge to adequately educate the customer anyway. It is a terrible job. There are not enough words to express my dissapointment with Progressive. I was very excited when I was hired but I quickly found out the job is incredibly overwhelming. The training was a joke. My manager was not supportive and argumentative.
