Pros

Paycheck Remote Work Equipment Provided

Cons

Progressive advertises that they are a “great place to work” and “care about families and military.” Neither of those statements is true. They lie about their culture so you’ll take the job, and they lie about your hours. They make everyone “Salaried, Exempt” but then micromanage your every move and give you tasks that you have no way of accomplishing in an 8-hour workday (unless you never went to the bathroom, took lunch, or even took a breath.) They make everyone “salaried” on purpose but then guilt-trip and bully everyone into working outside of business hours so they can get free overtime labor. They’re constantly threatening write-ups and will NEVER be satisfied with your performance. Every meeting you have with your supervisor will be an endless critique that you have no way of correcting because their expectations are impossible to meet unless you want to have no life and just work 24/7 with no lunch or bathroom breaks. They stress customer service, but then they tell you to rush to get everyone off the phone. (Not good customer service.) They have policies that make customers angry, but then act like the employees following THE COMPANY’S rules are the problem when customers are upset. (For instance, “That customer was mad that they only got $2k instead of $5k on their claim. If only you had said it more nicely and called them more, they would’ve been happy.” NO!! If a customer feels they’re being scammed, no matter how eloquently that is communicated, they are NOT going to be happy!) The bosses micromanage, threaten, bully & guilt-trip you daily. They tell you to ask questions and then get angry and humiliate you if you dare ask. Then, if you don’t ask the question in fear of humiliation, they get mad about that, too! Basically, no matter what you do, Progressive will pick it apart and make you feel horrible! Then, they’ll act like YOU’RE the jerk for quitting. They ‘ll blame you for things that are completely out of your control. Every supervisor gives you different instructions, which makes everything super confusing. Also, the supervisor will tell you to deny a claim, so you deny it like they asked. If the customer calls and complains enough, the supervisor will completely throw you under the bus and fail to mention that THEY were the one instructing you to deny the claim. They’ll then give the customer everything they want, humiliating you in the process. Supervisors also like to gossip about employees in an extremely unprofessional manner. As an employee, you’ll basically carry the entire business whilst being told you “need to do more” by supervisors who do nothing but sit back and laugh and make fun of you while you’re actually getting the work done. If you’re just needing money, then you can take the job. But use it as a stepping stone to get to a higher-paying role at a company who actually adheres to their core values. Progressive advertises integrity and empathy, in which they COMPLETELY lack. They will humiliate, bully and threaten you to the point of making you physically ill and then go on and on about how “nice and caring” of an employer they are. There were days I worked when I was extremely sick, and everyone knew. (I didn’t want to miss because they’d just pile up my work and throw even more work at me the day I got back.) Instead of getting a “thank you” from anyone when I was working sick, I got told I “need to do more.” They will never express gratitude for ANYTHING you do. They’ll only tell you how terrible and slow you are. They’ll also accuse you of things they have no proof of that never happened and write them as facts on your employee review. I have also been cursed at by supervisors when I was trying to ask a question. Their core values should be revised to “Bullying, Guilt-Tripping, Scamming by Making Employees Work Free Overtime, Gaslighting, and Micromanaging.” This place is downright depressing to work at! I wish everyone would quit so the bosses could see how ridiculous their expectations are when they have to actually do something since no one else is there to do the job anymore. Run away from this unprofessional , backstabbing, corrupt employer as fast as you can!

DO NOT DO IT

Pros

There are no Pros working for Progressive

Cons

Do not do it! They will over work you more than 40 hours per week and still expect you to do more. They are very ungrateful and will micro manage all of your work using a software called intellirisk. This job as a PCS rep will destroy your mental health and management will just watch you drown in your own work. The supervisors will belittle you, make you feel stupid and insignificant. Management will constantly tell you they are trying to hire but in reality they are too cheap to be staffed appropriately and want you to be overworked. In the Denver, Colorado office they hire supervisors who are not qualified and retaliate against their employees when they speak up. There is no accountability for upper management for their actions and poor management. This job does not pay well for all the BS they put you through. Do not work here there are plenty of better jobs out there that will treat you better than Progressive in Denver, CO.

Pros

The culture is pretty good, they will work with you to get you comfortable with their work load.

Cons

Really really low raises. Lots of micro management (they promised a hands off environment) You will work the hardest you ever have Very little praise, they just expect you to go above and beyond everyday as part of your everyday. Everyone quit during Rona- so they only had the bottom of the barrel to promote to management… and that’s exactly what they did instead of looking outside the company. They make you pay for the car you use, but they actually pay the WFH people 20$ extra a month for their electricity? They like to let things get very bad before they take action. From an appraisers pov _ Progressive doesn’t pay for pretty much anything the body shop deserves at the end of the estimate, and they don’t give you good reasoning as to why- so it creates a ton of tension in the shops before you’re even writing the car.
