Free healthy snacks and fountain drinks. Co-workers, benefits, and hours.

Cons

Progressive has changed a lot this past year. Yes, they’re growing but the more they’ve grown the less they are caring for their employees. They are very unorganized and communication has became awful and I know this because im in Quality Assurance. Turnover is awful for example they hire 20 and once those 20 are trained and ready, 30 agents quit. Lately their customer service and Merchant Support department mangers have been making awful decisions that only benefit them and not the employees/customers. My experience with QA has been getting worse and worse. Im not the only one who feels this, some of my co-workers are already looking for other employment.

Pros

The company does a good job with swag and keeping people informed of some critical information. The office building is nice but the remote culture was better. Most of the people who did work were really good people.

Cons

The leadership of the company has little to no diversity so I could not see myself being successful there. The product set is priced to where it is difficult for customer to succeed financially. The CEO is just another financially minded, uninspired manager who wants to be a FinTech is not a tech aware leader and has not surrounded himself with tech savvy leaders. The previous CPO was also not inspiring. The CPTO was asleep at the wheel and left a 3-5 year gap in progress.

Was a great place to work. Solid company expanding into other areas of untapped growth weathered the pandemic well

If you as a engineer like the following, it might be right for you: Engineering culture is extremely competitive not cohesive Lots of finger pointing Honesty is not valued Superfluous metrics being evaluated for deployment readiness. Contests around stupid metrics like how many code check-ins Live and die by code coverage Promises of payouts for extra ordinary work that never are satisfied Declining trust in executive leadership Unclear guidelines for success, mgmt chain not informed of items that need top down communication.
