Pros

I have never felt more supported, engaged, and cared for than I have at PMI. Yes there have been many changes in the last few years, and while change can be scary for many of us, the latest changes in senior leadership have been nothing less than inspiring. I truly feel honored to work here, and proud of the impact my work has. Generous salaries, benefits, effective senior leadership, managers with high EQ, the list goes on.

Cons

None that come to mind.

Thank you for your enthusiastic review, we’re glad you feel PMI is a great place to work – we think so too. As you stated, we have welcomed several new executive leaders this year. We’re eager to see the positive impact they’ll bring to PMI as we continue to grow and create value for the project management community at large.

Great place to work

Pros

PMI is a great place to work. As stated in other reviews, Pay and benefits are excellent and competitive. You won't find better people to work with than PMI employees. I am thankful for the opportunity to work at PMI.

Cons

PMI is going through a reorganization. This may lower morale and cause employees to worry about job/department security. A few reviews mention promotions based on popularity rather than leadership abilities, and I agree that this can be the case (not always). This has happened for some time, so I don't think it reflects the current leadership. Processes are very complex at PMI. It is important to consider streamlining current processes and providing flexibility with technology options. It is almost impossible to collaborate with external stakeholders using Teams or Office. Permissions are often too tight, and many of us must find workarounds. External stakeholders often complain about the complexity of these processes. It is important to note that this problem is not unique to PMI.

Thank you for taking time to provide this review. We are pleased that you find PMI to be a great place to work, with excellent pay and benefits, and agree that we have wonderful colleagues. We understand your concerns about the reorganization of teams and the potential impact to employees. Change can bring uncertainty, but we want to assure you that changes are intentionally designed to put the community at the center of all we do. We remain committed to supporting our employees and are actively working to communicate transparently and provide clarity on any changes that may occur. Regarding promotions, we continuously strive to make promotion decisions based on leadership abilities, qualifications, and merit. We are also actively reviewing our technology options and exploring ways to streamline processes in order to make collaboration easier. We value your input and welcome additional suggestions via the anonymous Ask Me Anything link on our employee intranet, OnePMI.

Pros

Pay and benefits are good. Many wonderful people happen to work here. Meet people around the world.

Cons

New CEO slashing teams left and right. Ongoing issues with lack of vision, siloed teams, constant sense of intense urgency, and little acknowledgement of resources as humans.

Thank you for sharing your positive experience with compensation, benefits, and the opportunity to meet and work with colleagues around the world. We know that change can be challenging. But PMI is evolving to respond to the needs of our community, and, like most organizations, we sometimes need to adjust our ways of working and structure of our teams. The recent changes resulted in numerous internal promotions and career progression moves, as well as a few role eliminations. Although we are experiencing very strong growth in almost all regions of the world, we have also recruited hundreds of new employees in the last two years. We remain committed to providing a good work-life balance for all employees.
