Many people are eager for the company to embrace its potential for creating social good beyond its campus and profit margins. There are countless individuals with good intentions who envision a better world and believe the company could play a more significant role in making that vision a reality.
Cons
The drive to make a greater impact in the world is constrained by the leadership in ownership, human resources, and marketing and communications. Senior management appears comfortable in their roles and hesitant to challenge some of the owner’s socially problematic views. As a result, the company’s stated commitment to DEI often falls short in practice, coming across as performative. Unfortunately, this not only undermines the intended goals but also risks causing more harm than good to marginalized communities and employees.
