Pros

If you’re on the right team, good people to work with. 100% covered health care.

Cons

A family company, but won’t provide additional parental leave past what is required. A B Corp, but continuously raises rents. Committed to diversity, but has a defunct diversity team that does nothing. Overworks field teams with new initiatives cooked up by bored corporate managers with absolutely no follow through. Believed branding and differentiation happens with lingo and not service provided.

Thank you so much for taking the time to send us your feedback, and as tough as it is to read, we hear you and it’s unfortunate we couldn’t discuss your concerns sooner. Taking care of our Prometheans and their families is our top priority, which is why we have committed each year to provide fully covered benefits and more, including various options of time off that accommodates each Prometheans’ needs. As a certified B Corporation, our social and environmental impact plays a key role in our motto, “Good Living for the Greater Good”, which is an ongoing effort to simultaneously balance our sustainable actions and business needs. Additionally, Prometheus’s Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging team continues to welcome feedback and strive to be inclusive in a meaningful and intentional way. We certainly hope wherever you are at now, you feel fully supported.

They under pay and exploit their workers

Pros

- You get to wear jeans and semi-casual clothes to work - Kaiser Permanente as a health care option - The branding is cute - Housing discount

Cons

Property management groups notoriously underpay their employees with commission structure in mind. Prometheus, however, takes it one step further. They cut your wages for the commission (only $100 per lease, many PMC are doing percentages of the base rent, equaling far more than $100 a lease), AND they cut your wage again in the name of "free health care." How is it free if you're cutting my hourly rate for the health care coverage? They always promise that they are revisiting the wages, but they are still consistently the lowest paying PMC in the area. Many other PMC's are now offering the same benefits as Prometheus AND they aren't cutting their employee wages. On top of all of that, I haven't taken a state mandated 10-minute break since beginning here, because they love to understaff their teams. I go into each day not knowing if I will be able to even take my lunch break in its entirety, because you are expected to have your life revolve around this job. As a Neighbor Ambassador, you can expect to do the job of leasing, resident relations, maintenance, and more, and still get told you're being paid what you deserve. Prometheus is also introducing this concept of "one team," which is another way of saying they are reducing staffing drastically, spreading people a lot thinner, without increasing the base wages.

Hi there. First, thank you for sharing your Promethean experience. Secondly, know that everything we are about to share is not intended to be lip service but truly comes from a place of wanting to get it right. Your feedback is incredibly important to us, and we appreciate knowing what is not working for you. Along with our annual Engagement survey, we hold peer Focus Groups and Roundtables and encourage our Prometheans to talk with their managers about important topics. We are glad to hear that you feel comfortable going to your manager with any concerns, even if we may not have a ready solution. This is a unique period in our history and industry, and how we operate has been changing over the last 18 months. We hope to see a stabilization soon so we can right-size our teams, as running slim is not how we typically operate. We hear your frustrations with OneTeam, and trust us when we say our Operations team is actively looking into these concerns. You are correct that Prometheus offers 100% employer-paid Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage for Prometheans and their dependents. However, during this pandemic we have not issued any pay cuts. In fact, pay was increased for our Field Prometheans, and we kept the semi-annual bonus structure intact. Not letting go of a single Promethean due to the pandemic is a victory we are incredibly proud of too. It is highly concerning that you have not been allowed to or encouraged to take proper breaks throughout the day. Would you be willing to reach out directly to Promethean Services? We need to know more before we can make this right.

Pros

It’s better than being unemployed?

Cons

No meaningful recognition. they will “recognize” your hard work by sending you jackets with there logo on it until you run out of room in your closet but if you are hoping for actual recognition, or for them to actually listen to what the employees would like, don’t work here. Oh there is also an annual survey they send out soliciting feedback on how well they are doing and they will drop a small piece of good news right before to try and sweeten everyone up and but then it’s crickets till the next survey.

Thank you for your feedback. Your note was challenging for us to read and we take all comments to heart. We are in new territory; coming together via Zoom right now is the best way to gather all together until we can meet in person again. Yes, it can feel flat and short on pizzazz, but please know that virtual screen time and holiday gifts are not all we hang our hats on (and hope those are nice little tokens along the way). You are right; we were open on Christmas Eve. Our entire organization was on the clock, as we have been for many years. We did make a change to our regular operating schedule and closed our offices the Friday after Thanksgiving for all Prometheans, something we have never done before. As an additional thank you to our hardworking teams, every single Promethean received an additional 40 hours of paid time off to use over the holidays. We hope you took advantage of the offering and got to rest and recharge. Hard work always has and will be valued within our organization along with the dedicated spirit of teamwork. Please reach out to anyone you trust here at Prometheus, Promethean Services, your PFM, or a trusted colleague. We would very much appreciate the chance to sit and talk with you about your concerns.
