Pros

It's energizing to be surrounded by high-performing individuals who are driven to do well by his/her client. There has been a naturally forming culture of support and camaraderie, which I've found to be very helpful when facing challenging times at my client site. Leadership is outwardly focused on the individual trajectory of each of the associates, and that is backed up by their actions/investments.

Cons

Nothing jumps out in my mind at this point. There are a number of efforts underway to continue refining the Propeller brand, web presence, and office space - which is indicative of the scrappy startup culture. So, I suppose folks looking for a lot glitz in this regard might be underwhelmed for a few months while these areas are established.

Part naturally formed by bringing together talented people, part by design by keeping who we are and how we express it a priority, our culture is what makes us...us. Even as we grow, Propeller is committed to supporting our team so that however long you're with us (and we hope it's a while!), you can learn and grown. Supporting our team internally frees Associates up to spend their brain power on solving client problems, which is probably why you got into this work in the first place. When sometime does come to mind, please let us know because we want to make this place stay great for you and everyone.

Pros

Propeller Resources is a collection of smart, driven, compassionate problem solvers who are committed to delivering high quality work and are genuinely fun to be around. The leadership team is extremely impressive and it shows in the thoughtful way they are approaching growth opportunities while at the same time staying focussed on creating a unique and fulfilling company culture.

Cons

I haven't had any challenges or issues. Prospective candidates should be prepared for a 4-6 week recruiting process

Thank you for providing your insight. Prospects do take 4-6 weeks (and sometimes more) because our recruiting team is made up of Associates who are primarily working at client sites. It's good you mention that so candidates know what to expect. Our culture is integral to our success and it's great to hear you feel like you are challenged and get to have fun. It's not easy to grow quickly, especially when you hire really talented, ambitious people who want to learn, grow, and be a part of something great. We try to do right by our team in this way. If you think of any ways we can improve, please let us know!

Pros

The opportunity to get out and use your expertise in different industries is rare. It stretches your skill set and gives you the chance to learn about business sectors that are often tough to break into. Propeller is in many of the interesting fields in the Portland market: tech, apparel, energy, healthcare. The client diversity is exciting. The team is fun, smart and merges play and work as much as possible.

Cons

If you require predefined structure, hierarchy, a map of your 25-year career path, and grandiose titles that grow along said career path...this is not the place for you. If you always wanted to be a ________ (fill in the blank) since you were a kid, unless "consultant" or "problem-solver" or "ah-ha! generator" was the answer...this is not the place for you. Propeller thrives in the ambiguous transition spaces where most businesses struggle. This job does not come with an instruction manual. If that sounds exciting...this is the place for you.

Wow, you put that very well! It's true that we live in an ambiguous world. Often, we're hired to be agents of clarity or bring order to chaos. Thanks for the kudos on transparency and communication; we'll work to keep that strong. If you think of anything else, please let us know!
