I thought too good to be true

Pros

When I was applying, I looked on Glassdoor and saw that they had 5 stars by EVERYONE who worked there. I thought it was too good to be true, but I went through the process which was rigorous - and made sure that I was a good fit for Propeller and Propeller was a good fit for me. The people are great... they are focused on making our clients successful and having fun. Everyone works together and encourages each other. Since I've been here, I've had my input listened to, contributed ideas to our approach, and been very impressed by the commitment to transparency of the principals and associates alike.

Cons

Hmmm... Sometimes I get to the office earlier than anyone else and have to make the coffee (which happens to be delicious).

It takes a lot of work to stay focused on making this company great so people like you will want to work here, but it's well worth it! We hire great people and then find out once they start that they're even better than we thought, with more talent and capacity than we imagined after that long interview process. That's our job though; we find the people who are multipliers. Please let us know when you see ways we can improve. We're a small company with great ambition and we know it takes a team to succeed. Oh, and thanks for making coffee in the mornings!

Pros

There are too many great things about Propeller to list, but here are a few. The culture is fun and fresh (from company-sponsored happy hours to karaoke to just wanting to hang out together), training is fantastic, the principles really emphasize employees with development and letting them have input on which clients to work with, co-workers are smart and good people, and you get to have a part in shaping the company via internal initiatives. Plus, there is room to grow your career here. The benefits are fantastic, including PTO (unlimited, just use your best judgement and take at least 3 weeks), the work is interesting (sometimes big projects, sometimes smaller), paid gym membership, cell phone, maternity/paternity leave, 401k matching, and honestly competitive salaries. Co-workers are genuinely collaborative and smart. The company believes in being open about where we are and where we're going so you're not left in the dark. No travel outside the Portland area for work and there is special emphasis on work-life balance because we're supposed to only work 40-45 a week on average. Not all clients/projects are created equal, but this is what we strive for.

Cons

Can't really think of any...

Thanks for taking the time to post a review! We love hearing that we're on the right track and it's great to know that you are enthusiastic about the benefits. Even though we're small, we want to make sure we have the best talent in town and this is one way to do that. Please let us know if you see a way to make our company better!
