Fast pace, fun people, growing company, always an opportunity for growth

Pros

- Talented and caring coworkers. - A feeling of working for a great place (for as long as you are doing well. make one wrong step and you get iced out)

Cons

- Consultants find themselves left to fend for themselves without support. - Some of my former female coworkers have worked for clients who are harassing them have been completely unsupported. - Utilization target is higher than similar firms. - Most consultants who leave don’t take the time to leave Glassdoor reviews but we all talk about our bad experiences when we see each other. - Contracts tend to be staff aug with very little actual consulting work.

Propeller Response

I’m saddened by what you’ve shared here. It does not reflect our cultural ethos or the work environment we are committed to fostering -- one where employees have opportunities and resources to grow, while also feeling supported and safe to be their authentic selves. I don’t think it’s productive to respond point-by-point to your review in this forum. However, I do want to briefly respond to your point about harassment. We take these accusations very seriously and do not stand for harassment of any kind – either internally or at the client. We have safeguards in place to prevent and address these situations should they occur. Employees have several avenues to report harassment concerns, including to their Performance Manager, Managing Director, myself, or any other Leadership Team member with whom they resonate. If any current or former Propeller employees or future candidates wish to discuss the content of this review in more detail, please do not hesitate to reach out to me directly (jbrown@propellerpdx.com). Pros

Unlimited PTO where you’re treated like an adult who can manage his/her own schedule is pretty great! Being able to choose to either take a bigger bonus or get more time off is freeing, too. The pay is fair (but do advocate for yourself, as with any other company...the first offer is never where you should land). Great colleagues! Super fun to work at a small company where you—and what you do—matters. Really invested leadership. But you have to be invested in putting yourself into the company to get the most out of it. Nobody is going to get you connected for you, so if you don’t feel connected it’s really up to you to fix that. And there are a LOT of opportunities!

Cons

Some projects are just boring. 401(k) matching is pretty average or maybe below average. And the company has never hit the target for performance so nobody has ever gotten a full bonus, so that stinks. And once you get to a certain level, there’s not much farther you can go.
