Great Benefits, Lack PD and Growth

Pros

Benefits are amazing: health/gym, commuter, wageworks. More diverse than the average non-profit. Salary is pretty good but can be slightly more competitive. Great work/life balance.

Cons

Systems and office space are antiquated and things are still done via filling out, printing & scanning forms rather than electronic. Office environment feels like you work in a maze rather than a collaborative space. Management lack the managerial skills to empower their staff to grow and explore options within the organization.

Great organization dedicated to employee development

Pros

PHI is a great place to work overall. Good work-life balance, enjoyable work environment, and colleagues that are supportive of your career and personal development. The organization offers great benefits and resources to their employees, with leadership that value their employees' well-being both at work and outside of work. Being surrounded by programs working in different areas of public health sets the stage for valuable learning opportunities, as well.

Cons

The programs at PHI are siloed, which can make it difficult to feel connected to the greater organization. Your experience as an employee really depends on the program you work for, or if you work for the administrative arm of the organization (which supports all the different programs). The administrative arm of PHI does make efforts to engage all employees with trainings and town halls.
