Pros

Opportunity to work with talented people that really love what they do. I have learned a lot and experienced a lot of things. I have learned a lot about Particle Physics.

Cons

Lots of work for very little compensation. No real training for an actual job. You are at the complete mercy of your Adviser for time off, graduation time, pay. I feel that I was mislead in the opportunities that I would have after I graduate. I get school payed for not because there is a lack of physics scientists, but because it is cheap labor.

Nice environment with good opportunities to learn and gain experiences. Good for networking and collaboration with other institutes. Good value for time and money. Low cost of living.

Cons

Not the best management at many levels. The plans to stay competitive in the future are not well defined. Small city without much to do.

The research and teaching facilities are above average. The professors are some of the most prolific and intelligent in all of academia.

Cons

The pay for graduate students is low in comparison to similar institutions with similar teaching and research facilities. Some of the international students are not properly screened for their ability to speak and write in English. This makes it difficult for them.
