Pros
-Opportunity to take ownership of career -Decent pay -Very good benefits, including dental -Easy to get most supplies you need to address a job -Very good IT department so if you have computer problems they won't be long
Cons
-Long hours with no compensation whatsoever for such overtime (not even a vacation day when you have to work on an off day!) -Senior management tends to take credit for success while insisting everyone "share in the pain" during the lean times -Little work life flexibility and little oversight into how firm policies on work life are applied at the staff level -Feedback system is highly subjective and prone to reflect personality differences as much as staff ability -Culture of greed and profiteering, competition is encouraged but not the friendly kind, as a result it is difficult to make friends with coworkers and you will want to if you work here judging by the amount of hours you will spend with them -Austerity measures put into place during the recession negatively impacted staff more than they did senior management -During periods of light work, they will insist you find work (even when there is none), ride you constantly about it (even if it's just to find "busy work"), and bother you about every 15 minutes unaccounted for. Yet when work is heavy they will gladly let you work 100+ hours in a week without a second thought. -Many "firm policies" are arcane or otherwise out of date yet still enforced to the detriment of staff -Ineffective human resources department
