If you do not have career plans to become a partner then get out as quickly as possible.
Pros
Great place to work in terms of gaining experience and exposure. The formal trainings used to be outstanding but have taken a hit due to the economy. I think they will make a comeback if the firm gets back to the level of revenue that they are aspiring for.
Cons
Work life balance is horrible even though they have alot of policies in place to try and help the staff. The bottom line is that there is just to much work and most offices are understaffed. The firm does not do a good job of moving resources, although they try. The most qualified individuals are not promoted and there are a lot of backroom discussions that take place which determine who gets promoted and who doesn't. This is not always communicated to the staff, which leads to a lot of frustrated employees. Do not ever indicate that you are unwilling to travel for extended periods of time as this will put a mark on your record that will seriously hamper you when it comes time to be evaluated and when being considered for promotion.
