Pros

The brand and image is worth a lot when you move on. The name is recognized across industries and will prove very valuable no matter what you pursue. Also, get to learn some strong skills despite all the downside of actually working there.

Cons

Job is mindless and focus on billables is obnoxious. People who lack skills work 90 hours a week, those with intelligence or competence quit before they make a worthwhile contribution to the firm.

Pros

Tons of work (hours), but we knew that when we were hired. So yes, there can be some work /life balance issues. You can choose to stick around for a few years or just get the “Form E’s” signed off on and then move on to greener pastures. Looks great on the resume. The career opportunities are far and wide when you leave the company. Senior Management is good for the most part at PwC. The entry level audit position can be summed up like this--"Its boot camp for the accounting profession….You don’t become a soldier without going to boot camp"

Cons

No overtime pay. But we all knew this when we signed on the dotted line.

Pros

The learning opportunities are very good-- both from internal training and the opportunity to work on a diverse mix of clients, industries, etc. You can also learn a ton if you have managers that support and value learning across the team. This certainly isn't always the case, but when it is, there are few better training grounds than what you'll find at PwC.

Cons

if you're stuck with a bad partner, manager or mentor, you won't learn much. Also, like any other shop, recognition goes to those that do a good job AND have vocal supporters in upper ranks.
