Massive and structured, yet unique

Pros

All the benefits of a big firm - best technology, tools, support and opportunities. Smart people, who have the ideal opportunity to work with other smart people.

Cons

Structure can be oppressive. Salary matrices and increase models don't offer flexibility within the framework to recognize performance. The old adage - you have to quit and comeback to get a real raise - still rings true.

PwC fosters unethical behavior.

Pros

PwC provides a solid work life balance.

Cons

Non-client service staff are under paid, under appreciated and positioned as second class citizens. Targeted training opportunities for non-client service staff are few and far between. Credit for work all too often goes to client service staff when it should be going to internal firm services. PwC seems to reward unethical behavior. Apparently its ok for people to sleep their way to the top and then influence key decision makers for their own personal agenda.

Learned a lot but at a cost!

Pros

The company is relatively stable and the compensation is fair. The environment is challenging and expectations high so this is definitely an experience that will sharpen you. In general you will work with some of the top people in their fields.

Cons

The work-life balance is all theory and not practice. No one has a proper work-life balance. You are expected to work, work, work! It can be extremely political as you see employees that have relationships with certain leaders benefit from those relationships and shoot to the sky from a career perspective, only to see them fall when leadership changes.
