Pros

People are the best. you will work with a lot of type A personalities and really smart people. They give us off the week of Christmas and July 4th week.

Cons

Pay- there are pay bands and cohorts so if you type out in your cohort you will not get a raise unless you get promoted. The bonus is not too good. If you get a excellent rating (move heaven & earth) you will get 20%. A meets expectaction your bonus will be 4%. The partners are the ones that make the real money here. People will top out at Sr. Mgr and your pay wont go past 250k There is a expecation of overtime hours depending on your level that could mean an extra 10hrs a week as a minimum among the other things your looked at for. There is really no much diversity among the leadership here. I think we had 260 new partner and 10 were black which is a representation of what the firm really looks like. We are pitted against our peers which makes the firm look good cause everyone wants to look great to the partners but that makes having an actual life hard. Most people have to take sabbatical to really get some R&R.

Pros

Brand name, that’s it. Can’t think of anything else

Cons

If you’re white and enjoy office politics this is the place for you. The women in management have serious anger management issues. My entire cohort left in less than a year. We would get screamed and verbally abused for asking a basic question. There’s so much politics and strong pulling going on, you keep wondering if you’re going crazy. I caught up with an ex colleague of mine who said she had to go into therapy because it was her first job and everyone just keep yelling at her. It took me about 6 months to stop having severe anxiety after leaving. I work at another big 4 now and it’s nothing like Pwc. Horribly toxic place that will have you questioning yourself. For example, during the review period one project manager got mad that I refused to let her pick me up from the hotel at a client location. I have so many stories that people cannot believe how awful things were
