Pros

Reviewer background: Graduated cum laude from a top 10 business program at a tier 1 SEC school. TL;DR - Not the worst place to start, but if you’re intellectually curious, anything past two years here is likely selling yourself short. Pros: People - Most at the SDC are bright, well-read, and personable. Education backgrounds are generally impressive, so odds are good that you’ll learn at least a little bit from your peers. Politics rears its head from time to time, but that’s to be expected anywhere. Overall, the vast majority of people here are capable of working in “Core” PwC (see Cons #1). Ice machines- They’ve got the the Hoshizaki ones that put out ice like they have at Sonic. Not too hard, not too slushy. 10/10.

Cons

Cons: Fundamentally exploitative business model, little room to develop relevant and marketable skillset, no upward mobility, ~75% of work consists of rote mechanical tasks that will probably be automated within the next 5-10 years.

Pros

- Diverse projects provide a wide range of experiences

Cons

- Partners that have little to no understanding of the technical aspects of IR - Performance evaluation strategy was designed for groups with different revenue models which leads to consistently poor bonuses for the IR team - IR team is severely understaffed, which disintegrates work-life balance

Pros

Colleagues for the most part are fantastic. High profile clients. Great brand name which provides good exit opportunities

Cons

Current management of the Advisory practice is ruining the place. What was a tolerable political environment (i.e. nothing out of the ordinary) has become a toxic one. Experienced hires should avoid the place at all cost. You will be eaten up and spit out. Promotions and bonuses are based on politics.
