Pros

Large firm resources, good benefits package: various health insurance options, vision and dental, $450/year for making healthy choices, 401(k) match isn't great (1.5% for every 6% you put in) but there's an additional retirement benefit of 3% as associate (increasing at each level), public transportation reimbursement. There are opportunities to transfer cities or move service lines. There obviously has to be a business justification, but the firm will try and help.

Cons

I don't know if this is PwC-specific or common everywhere: I feel like managers have favorites and treat them really well and people who aren't favorites kind of fill in the holes.

Pros

Exposure to interesting projects and talented people. Good reputation in the market for some practice areas, not as well known in others.

Cons

Received a promotion with the highest rating possible, but received no increase and less than half of the target bonus. It's difficult to stay motivated.

Pros

Pay is comparable to other firms. Partners make a lot of money and feel good about their superiority.

Cons

- They treat you like a cog instead of a person. I never got the feeling that anyone of my bosses actually cared about me, but only cared about my work. - If you don't get on the "good job" in the office you will be ignored and passed over for good opportunities. - Management will send you to a different market for engagements where you will be treated like a leper because you aren't "one of us and won't be back for next years audit". - During my 2+ years at PwC I saw the partner at my client site a total of 2 times. The managers on my engagement were there less than once a month because we weren't important enough to take up their time. - Firm policies are inflexible. They don't understand that different companies do things different ways and try to force testing into pre-made solutions (think square peg in round hole).
