Pros

Some of my co workers were nice.

Cons

They say overtime is not encouraged but they reward people who perform overtime with promotions and punish people who work normal hours by comparing the amount of work you accomplished to those who do overtime to get ahead. Managers will give you good reviews in general and you’ll still be at risk for being fired. A lot of people are just trying to survive at the company and are constantly scared that they will be let go which causes a lot of stress. Theres a lot of fake happiness and fake-ness at the company. No thanks, I found a different company.

Thanks for your feedback, and we’re sorry to hear about your experience. To share a bit of context - while we do sometimes part ways for performance issues, it's pretty rare (a handful out of almost 100 QA Engineer hires). Every QA Engineer has regular 1:1s with their manager, and we have clear conversations and opportunities to improve before any termination decisions. Regarding overtime, QA Engineers work a standard 40-hour weekly shift, and we encourage talking to managers about any concerns with work/life balance. We appreciate that QA Wolf isn’t for everyone, but we sincerely believe that our employees are happy. Our QA Engineers tend to stay with us by choice, and many recent hires are direct referrals. In our latest anonymous survey, 96% of employees said they recommend QA Wolf as a great place to work. Feel free to reach out to qa-hiring@qawolf.com if you'd like to chat more about your concerns. We'd love to connect your anonymous feedback to the context of your specific situation and make sure we've done right by you, as well as learn from this feedback for future hires and current employees.

Pros

Fully Remote Great coworkers Workload is not bad

Cons

Micromanagement, team leads & higher management are disorganized and vague with how promotions work. They laid me off for 'performance,' but never specified the specific reason when I had the performance numbers from the daily performance reports. I was straight up lied to from my team lead about my performance. I agree with another anonymous reviewer about the company. Lots of fake happy work culture, and the promotions always seemed to be based on who was the most likable. It didn't help that after being lied to by my team lead about my performance, all that happened was a verbal apology and being moved from their team.

Thanks for your feedback, and we’re sorry to hear about your experience. To share a bit of context, we do unfortunately sometimes part ways for performance issues, but it's pretty rare (a handful out of 100 QA Engineer hires). We've also recently rolled out a new performance cycle to make it even more transparent about where QA Engineers stand in response to feedback from folks like yourself. While we're sorry this wasn't in place during your tenure, we do hope it helps for the future. Feel free to reach out to qa-hiring@qawolf.com if you'd like to chat more about your concerns. Pros

- Able to log off on time everyday - Must work from home - Learning is encouraged - Work is challenging but in an enjoyable problem solving way - Management is easy to talk to - Promotions happen very often org wide - Career ladder is constantly growing - Apple laptop given to you when starting - Able to spend $1,000 of company money to buy an office set up - Great starting salary - QA Wolf hosts and pays for company retreats. They are really fun, you do not do any work during and you don’t have to use PTO to go. You can also bring your family, though you will have to cover their expenses - CEO and founders work along side employees regularly and know everyone in the company - Work culture is amazing, all cultures and lifestyles are accepted and honored - Workload is based on a weekly schedule.

Cons

- Is fast paced, can be overwhelming if you are not prepared for that - Quick efficient communication skills are definitely required, but are not difficult to learn if needed - Teams often are reorganized due to the company growing. Transitions are usually very smooth, but very quick. Can be a shock the first time you experience it - Lots of meetings both internally and externally. Luckily QAE1 usually only has internal meetings though and those are very simple
