Management is clueless about what to do with the company, frequent and expected layoffs, company culture is based around rumors and kitchen small-talk.

There’s a difference between a fixable problem and a systemic rot. High performers are leaving and leadership doesn’t ask why. Feedback goes into a black hole, you raise concerns that are acknowledged and ignored. Fixing problems gets you punished, not promoted. The same toxic behavior gets rewarded. If bad behavior has no consequences it’s not dysfunctional, it’s part of the policy. You are the one carrying the guilt, you feel responsible for protecting your team. If you are working harder to compensate for leadership failures, you are not fixing the culture. You are enabling it.
