- Management is unstable and tends to pursue goals half-heartedly, then cheap-out, I've seen it happen a dozen times. The 810 chipset fiasco is the latest in a long series of examples.
- Annoying history of advising management to go in a certain direction, almost getting fired for "saying something crazy", then whole company was forced in that strategic direction 3 months later by the good sense of outside competitors, it happened many times, my career was almost destroyed each time, especially after I was proven right.
I worked there for a total of 12 years, and the only way for an american to get promoted is to leave the company and then return in a different department. It's astonishing that they can pay a senior engineer $130k but managers start at $180k, the company is top-heavy with slick, overpaid managers who contribute very little to the bottom line. In my experience, you can get a great review when there is no money for bonuses and no stock available, but when there is something valuable on the table, it always seems to go to "friends" of management, and I mean that not in a good way ...
