Pros

Decent benefits and nice exercise facilities.

Cons

90% of the San Diego employees are H1B Visa immigrants that refuse to speak English in the elevators and hallways. Company has laid-off most of the older American's because they were deemed too expensive compared to the sponsored Indians and Chinese. The healthcare benefits used to be awesome, now they have offloaded most of the cost on the employees. I am currently and aggressively looking for other opportunities outside of this company. I wouldn't suggest any naturalized American citizen work here, you will hate it...

Pros

Salary and benefits are the highest in SD Free 24/7 gym on SD campus The industry is very interesting and exciting to work in

Cons

Culture can vary widely between department. I routinely hear coworkers talk about how the execs and board of directors are "evil". People are very catty behind each others backs. Many people think that the management is clueless and stupid. Lots of cursing, which in my personal opinion is very unprofessional. Pay isn't enough to live in San Diego. Its an expensive place. Company is bloated, which is why there is downsizing occurring.

Pros

Depending on the team you can work on challenging problems.

Cons

Reduced benefit is a real bummer. Health insurance is getting a huge downgrade in 2016. Company is really cheap. why does procuring a new monitor need to go to VP of finance? why is it almost impossible to get a laptop upgrade when your current one clearly no longer functions well enough for the job? Compared to companies in Silicon valley where employees are pampered Qualcomm really doesn't give a damn about the people doing the work. Company politics is a joke, incompetent people at management level with their equally incompetent lackeys getting all the promotions and raises while the good people are hardly recognized.
