Pros
Some very pleasant staff members who are experienced & eager to teach you, great team atmosphere within individual departments. Many guests are loyal to Choice Hotels so you can take pride in that.
Cons
Management. At the property where I work the manager seems eager to place blame & slow to take action. The man is not stupid & seems to know what he's talking about, just not what he is doing. Staffing is a joke & the turnover rate is unbelievable. Staff members are made to feel replaceable. Favoritism is shown blatantly between departments. One department is allowed to rent rooms at a discounted rate while another is not allowed to rent rooms at all. One department may go weeks without receiving a schedule while another given schedules on a weekly basis. I personally felt offended when my questions about how to sign up for Choice University went ignored when another department is actually required to use the program. My manager has never, after roughly three months, explained to me where exactly I can see my paycheck stubs. Moral at this location is at a low & every finger in the place is pointed in the same direction.
