Pros

My time at QVI so far has been very positive due to a wonderful, supportive manager who understands work-life balance and empowers me to do my job well and make a difference. Some of the best things about QVI: - extremely competitive benefits. The HDHP plans are only a few dollars per week (or free depending on what plan and if you're enrolled on a single plan) and feature some of the lowest deductibles I've seen compared to other companies. - PTO is also generous with many company holidays each year. - Conscientious leadership that seems to want to make the company better, as evident through engagement surveys and feedback, wellness initiatives, and events. - The work QVI does is impressive and it's very interesting to hear about our products and how they are used in many industries.

Cons

Some processes and outdated and need to be brought into the 21st century (manual processes, using too many paper forms vs. electronic, etc.) but I can see the push beginning to move the company forward in these areas.

Pros

Diverse array of employees and attitudes, allowing for "personal development". "Personal Growth" will be the reason you stick around. Get all of your growing done in one place so you can climb the ladder in the nearly immediate future (after leaving QVI of course). Looking busy doing nothing will trigger praise and potential career growth.

Cons

Feelings > Facts Yes man > Objective thinking "My way" > Fundamentally correct Question nothing > Promoting change Profanity/Crude language > Professional workplace Physical threats of violence > Appropriate discipline Location = Numerous murders, robberies, felonious activities QVI is on the leading edge when it comes to technology. They build surprisingly capable machines given the 1970 mindset that many "leaders" within the company operate under. How quickly you drink the kool aid will determine how successful you will be at QVI. Questioning inefficient work practices, suggesting improvements and attempting to implement change will take you nowhere. Employees are implored to take on as much as possible, regardless of capacity. Only until your boss suspects you may be looking for employment elsewhere will your workload be realistically reviewed. When people leave or get laid off management is extremely slow to back fill. Doing more with less is the expectation from all managers. The workforce is severely aged (50+). Primarily due to young people(-40) being driven away by legacy thinking and the inability to consider change. Lean is non existent, contrary to multiple banners and signs hung around the shop. This company has been around for a long time. It's evident after walking the floor that things have not changed much in decades. Drama and politics run rampant, read other reviews to find the common thread. Drama is not shut down but left to ferment and straddle the line between acceptable and hostile working conditions. Politics often follow suit. When you are hired at QVI make a powerful friend as quickly as you can. Stay in their pocket and you will achieve great things.

Pros

Paid every Friday, that's all

Cons

This company has treated ninty percent of employees like little kids, micro managed for eight hours a day. Unless you play the Game..No breaks, no positive anything. Just pushed all day. Just a disgrace to be called a company.
