COVID-19? What COVID-19.

Pros

It's a paycheck, I guess?

Cons

Certain employees refuse to follow COVID guidelines. Reporting them to HR yields "we'll remind them, but we can't do anything else". Especially when people who HAVE had COVID are among those 'unable' to wear a mask. Lack of discipline of employees is disturbing. Lqack of consideration for high risk employees is equally disheartening.

Pros

Top management seems to genuinely want to do the right thing, but they always screw it up.

Cons

Top management treats everyone like a production line worker in the 1950's. No job perks, no schedule flexibility. Absolutely no work from home. "Flex time" means you can decide if you want to start at 8am or 9am. Working areas are outdated, messy, and depressing. Maybe acceptable if you're a welder, unacceptable for anyone with a STEM degree. COVID policies literally and directly caused harm to workers, top management hid behind rules they came up with, acting like they have no control over them. Not that anyone was surprised, its only one more example of lack of care for workers.

Pros

The only pro I can think of is, if you have to work here, there's a paycheck.

Cons

This is an old-school, old boy's club, company that is ripe with nepotism. Upper management does not care about the employees at all. However, if you are part of the "inner circle" or a member of the owner's immediate, or extended, family you are can do no wrong and are pretty much set. Case in point: One "inner circle" long-time employee belongs to the yacht club with the owner (CEO). They also go on European ski vacations together. During a meeting, this individual actually called a female co-worker the "C" word (yes it rhymes with 'hunt'). Unbelievably, this person is still at the company. In fact, he was recently promoted to a VP position. This is a very toxic environment. The management culture here is deep in the belief that job titles impart knowledge. In other words, no one that's in upper management can be wrong and believe, by virtue of their title, they know more than the people reporting to them - even in areas in which they are absolutely clueless. I've been working in Corporate America for many, many, years - in highly-functioning, and creative marketing organizations. QVI's Marketing management team is weak - VERY WEAK! The very first day I worked at QVI the IT guy that was setting up my computer told me "it won't take you long to realize what a crappy company it is that you just took a job with". He was 100% right! I only wish I had been told this before I accepted the position. So ... If you are thinking of working here, here's my best advice - DON'T! I gave QVI a 1 star rating only because Glassdoor doesn't have a zero or negative star rating.
