This is an old-school, old boy's club, company that is ripe with nepotism. Upper management does not care about the employees at all. However, if you are part of the "inner circle" or a member of the owner's immediate, or extended, family you are can do no wrong and are pretty much set.
Case in point: One "inner circle" long-time employee belongs to the yacht club with the owner (CEO). They also go on European ski vacations together. During a meeting, this individual actually called a female co-worker the "C" word (yes it rhymes with 'hunt'). Unbelievably, this person is still at the company. In fact, he was recently promoted to a VP position.
This is a very toxic environment.
The management culture here is deep in the belief that job titles impart knowledge. In other words, no one that's in upper management can be wrong and believe, by virtue of their title, they know more than the people reporting to them - even in areas in which they are absolutely clueless.
I've been working in Corporate America for many, many, years - in highly-functioning, and creative marketing organizations. QVI's Marketing management team is weak - VERY WEAK!
The very first day I worked at QVI the IT guy that was setting up my computer told me "it won't take you long to realize what a crappy company it is that you just took a job with". He was 100% right! I only wish I had been told this before I accepted the position. So ... If you are thinking of working here, here's my best advice - DON'T!
I gave QVI a 1 star rating only because Glassdoor doesn't have a zero or negative star rating.
