Pros

-You get to work with big brand names from time to time. -You work with pretty cool teammates and you can have a great manager. -It is a good stepping stone for your career when you’re younger. -You are forced to be a self starter. -Company throws happy hours once a month. -You get a $100/month credit for your cell phone bill. -Team events and offsides can be at cool venues. -Really great audience insights and stories around data can be told. -Learning about customers and their business goals is super interesting, and you can get creative around what products you sell to meet their needs. -You are forced to source all your new business which can hone your outbound skillset.

Cons

-Chief People Officer, Chief Revenue Officer, Chief Marketing Officer and Chief Operating Officer all left in under one year and were never replaced - what does this tell you about an organizations structure and vision for the future? -No demand generation. They laid off the entire marketing team who to be fair, did no work, and never replaced with a marketing team that generates leads. -Clients can cancel contracts at any time due to factors out of your control such as performance or internal budget cuts. -Lack of brand awareness. -Too many people doing the jobs of 3 or 4 in what should be 1 and being overworked. -Highly unrealistic quotas. For example, if you get a big RFP or a client tends to spend a certain amount per quarter, this will raise your quota whether or not a contract is signed. -Terrible compensation plans. To be totally honest, very few people actually hit quota and you have no greater incentive to bring in more money quarter after quarter. For example, say your quota is $500k one quarter and $800k the next quarter. Say your target pay out is $15k/quarter. You would still need to hit 100% of that number to get the same total payout, despite the fact that you are bringing in significantly more money each quarter. It makes zero sense and accelerators are very flawed and only work if you hit over 100% of what is usually an impossible quota. -The food is not very good most days. -Clients are never happy about a lack of click conversions. -Most of the top performers quit and the few that are left are actively interviewing for new roles despite what management believes. -CFO is totally over his head thinking he can understand what the sales team is going through and is not genuine.

Pros

Joined the company a little under a year ago. I've been in the digital media space for a while now, and without naming names, I've worked at some of those pie-in-the-sky companies that people in the Bay Area dream of working for. Every place has it's pros and cons when it comes to perks & culture. No place is perfect. I always say, you need to know which things are truly important to YOU, take inventory of the good and the bad, and if the good outweighs the bad and you're working with people you like, consider yourself extremely lucky. The job is hard, and expectations are high, and the industry is fairly complex. But people here are super willing to help, leadership is really invested in developing their existing talent (never been part of a sales org that does as much on-going training as this place does!!), and most people seems to be doing pretty well. General list of 'pros' below: +The sellers here are SO SMART. I'm constantly impressed & inspired by them. In some of my past sales roles I felt surrounded by entitled and bored sellers... this place is NOT like that, and that's my #1 most favorite thing from a culture standpoint. +Most of the sales leaders (at least within my sales channel) were originally AEs here... so, clear examples of upward mobility. +TONS of sales training. Not just on our product, but general sales stuff. +Catered lunches daily, fully stocked kitchens, etc. +Monthly happy hours +Amazing rooftop deck, beautiful views of the city, really great place to have lunch with coworkers on sunny day +lots of clubs & groups putting on various activities +I really think we have one of the best products in our space, and that's pretty key since I'm trying to sell it :) +4 months maternity leave, plus a ramp-back-in month... not something I've needed to take advantage of just yet, but it's important!

Cons

-Not dog friendly :( -We have some challenges around our tech stack in terms of sales tools... maybe I'm just used to having more, but seems like we're still in the earlier stages of selecting some of those common tools. But good news is, I think it's going to improve? -Our MBOs get adjusted fairly often. Not a huge deal, but since they do make up a small portion of our pay-out it would be nice to be more consistent quarter over quarter vs. changing it up all the time.

Pros

Good pay. Great perks. Flexible WFH policy.

Cons

Terrible product - Leadership is entirely removed from the actual product needs and struggles of the client facing (sales & account management) workforce. No clear vision - Prioritizing wrong products. Too many pivots. No room for growth - Very little upward movement and promotions are hard to come by. Too much turnover - Revolving door. People 1-2 years in tend to leave as there is no future opportunity.
