Pros

- Shift is good, Monday to Friday, no weekend. - Pay is alright - Nice location nearby Mahon Point shopping center - Parking - Possibility to learn a lot. - No inbound phone calls, the engineer manages his workload and organisation.

Cons

- Difficult products to support as Dell did a very good sabotage before to sell the company (kill a futur rival) then bought EMC. - All the team are very short staffed resulting of a huge workload for the engineers. - Tons of scope of support added regularly without any reinforcement and still getting pressure from the management to work harder to get the metrics / KPIs. - Sales centered, customer centered, no consideration for the support engineers. - Lack of common sense and not taking the right choices when needed. - I would not advise someone with technical experiences to contact this company, however if you are a newbie wishing to work in the IT world it would be a fantastic first experience for a year or two before to be depleted of energy and motivation.

Pros

Development teams are pretty much left on their own to do their work if they are successful, which for a company that grows primarily by acquisitions is a good stable way to grow the business without disturbing employees too much. HR policies are somewhat progressive (it is a CA company) and provide for same-sex partnerships.

Cons

Executive decisions are strongly reactive, capricious, and seldom based on any real data. There is zero communication from the top about anything Quest is doing, even when it regards your specific team. Questions come in the form of very specific queries that belie a complete misunderstanding of the real-world situation. This results in nonsensical decisions that hurt Quest significantly. In general, any department that is centralized by Quest is incompetent. For instance, HR cannot seem to deliver their policy handbooks before the end of the open enrollment period, so you have to choose benefits blindly and are unaware of policy changes.

Pros

Benefits are quite good compared to some others.

Cons

Mgt Constantly changing. One set of staff reductions after another, no logic, performers and non performers are being let go. Promotions only go to people the CEO already knows from his past.
