Pros

None, honestly nothing whatsoever, this place is a horrible disaster.

Cons

Don't believe the recent run of good reviews. There's a very good chance they're all fake and/or written at the behest of the management. Quest Software likes to lay off people, this happens a lot, all the time. They treat their staff poorly. They are poorly organized. Staff morale is hopelessly and irretrievably low. There's no plan other than "AI will save us" (which it won't). Customer support - once second to none - is a horrible cheap mess.

Pros

Some good people, decent work life balance.

Cons

Consistent layoffs, horrible management and false promises. Word on the street is that the 5th round of layoffs under the current CEO are on the horizon. Management asks employees to leave good reviews on Glass Door. Could make significantly more money doing the same job at any of their competitors. Would avoid at all costs.

Pros

Historically a great place to work, amazing teams, culture, leadership, innovation and ability to make great W2 for past 15+ years. Family culture with innovation and market leading products. Innovation stopped 8 years ago after first private equity owner.

Cons

Past 18 months, all new leadership, top heavy and they have no idea what they are doing. CEO hires any past buddy that worked at EMC and have know idea what they are doing. “I got 15m dollar PO for hardware in the 1990’s. Why aren’t you getting those deals now with Quest unbelievable products”. These leaders have know idea what Quest is and can’t see that it’s all broken with the changes in past 18 months. Blind leading the blind in leadership and it’s hurting customers. Products don’t work… no innovation. Can’t keep up with competition, data base providers and free tools are better. Large customer renewal cost/% and new license cost increase monthly. Trying to become a SaaS company with legacy products that aren’t modern. Account manager can’t make money. Territory shrunk, only paid on new and no upsell opportunity and absolutely no support from new leadership because they just don’t know. Hired 500 customer success reps that know nothing about product and customers don’t want to hear from. Would not recommend to anyone. Not even to someone I thought could get experience. It’s not worth it. It’s that bad…..

Thank you for sharing detailed feedback and for recognizing the culture, teams, and products that have shaped Quest over time. The past 18 months have brought significant change, and we understand it hasn't felt positive for everyone. Leadership is focused on evolving the business, strengthening execution, and better supporting teams while balancing innovation, experience, and customer needs.
