Pros

Decent Pay People are friendly and fun to work with Still good to put on your resume Coffee bar

Cons

Massive/Frequent layoffs started in 2016. It was like a hunger game and it was very stressful to watch my coworkers disappear day by day. No career development. I consulted with HR and they said " a few special creatives get chance to work on shiny stuffs". Unbelievable. Speaking of HR, never ever thought about giving them feedback or report. They will share everything including your name with managers / exec, and they are just an extension of leadership. I went through this before. Very frustrating. Despite of loss of many accounts, only low level employees were impacted. Most of leaderships are same. Curious to know what was the criteria when company let people go. Was it based on performance? $$ of salary? Either way it's hard to understand why leadership doesn't take any responsibility on business crisis / failure.

3 Layoffs in a Year?

Pros

Excellent pay if you play your cards right. But of course, that could work against you in the end. See below.

Cons

This place used to be a highly sought after place of employment. Advice to all - stay away. After time away from R/GA I've learned that folks outside in software have a low opinion of R/GA (and agencies in general). To have 3 layoffs in the span of a year is unfathomable for a reputable agency. in the last 4 years, I've seen a ton of people dismissed (old regime) mostly folks over age 35. Let that be your measuring stick.

Pros

Good compensation A lot of creative people Relaxed atmosphere and good parties Company has good reputation

Cons

A lot of politics and favoritism going on. Management ignores employees. I once spent a weekend at work to win a hackathon contest while I was there, but when I won, not only would they not award me the prize, mangement wouldn't even return my emails.
