Pros
Long time dedicated employees that shed blood sweat and tears for their jobs and took pride in their craft. New corporate owners have invested millions in new equipment and technology. Upgrades in facility's building and appearance, investment in plant infrastructure to cut energy cost, reduce operating cost, improve materials usage, increase efficiencies.
Cons
Huge disconnect between office management and plant line employees. Company's industry did go through near free fall revenue losses since 2008, one of the top hardest hit industries of the current great recession and 1/3 of workforce was cut along with pay-cuts to remaining production workers. Company struggled maintaing quality and cost competitiveness with the market expectations. Changing market environment made profit models nearly impossible to grow and maintain. A successful year in this business was minimizing the rate of decline slower than the competition's.
