Pros

Steady work with a varied mix.

Cons

Some of the worst and costly benefits of any local Co.s. No pension or 401K match. No appreciation of employee's contributions. You are just a number with a pulse. OT scheduling is so "from the hip" and complicated that most people end up on an att. program. One set of rules for some and one set for others. Some of the worst leadership among management that ever existed. No flexibility to work with the employees and the challenges that pop up in their lives

Pros

Salary plus overtime for any hours worked over 40/week. I get my own laptop which allows me to work from home over the weekend or in the evenings (still have to report to the office during the day). Typically there is good team camaraderie and most of the supervisors and managers have worked their way up through the ranks and are familiar with the workflows and processes that lower level employees have to deal with.

Cons

Print industry is dying. This means that even though there are 'busy' periods where overtime is sometimes required, there are also slow periods where (depending on which dept you work in) you might get cancelled or sent home early multiple days in a week. The company is spinning off into three independently owned and operated entities by the end of 2016 which has created a lot of anxiety and uncertainty in regards to the state of future employment.
