Pros

PTO, flexibility, work-from-home, some caring managers

Cons

My rating reflects that there were a few managers who genuinely cared about employee growth; without them, this would have been a 1-star experience. Management: There was a clear pattern among managers with strong healthcare operations backgrounds — they were knowledgeable, supportive, and invested in the team’s development. Unfortunately, this was not consistent across the organization. Several managers lacked the experience or leadership skills needed for their roles. During my time on their teams, I often felt concerned about the impact on clients, as poor project-management practices sometimes put revenue and client relationships at risk. I also observed instances where managers aligned with one another in ways that created a hostile environment for associates. Asking for help was sometimes interpreted as undermining your manager, which could lead to subtle retaliation. Additionally, when associates requested support or clarity from other managers, some intentionally withheld assistance to avoid appearing disloyal — even when this meant the associate would be blamed for issues that could have been prevented. Instructions were often unclear or contradictory, yet new hires were expected to immediately understand them. When associates attempted to provide constructive feedback, it was not always received professionally and at times appeared to be held against them. While leadership frequently emphasized “promoting growth,” opportunities to shadow other departments or learn beyond your immediate role were discouraged, even when such development would have benefited both the team and the company. In practice, some managers seemed more focused on advancing their own careers than supporting their teams. HR: Reporting concerns to HR was not effective. Cases involving inappropriate behavior were not communicated back to me, and it felt as if leadership positions heavily influenced outcomes. Overall: Your experience at this company will depend heavily on the manager you are assigned to. There are a few excellent leaders who genuinely care — but there are also others whose management style can make the environment challenging.
