Great culture and nice people who are clearly proud to work for the RAC.
Pros
The RAC has been a very welcoming in the first few weeks. What is very clear is that the people who work here are hugely proud to work for the RAC, and that is testament to the length of service that some people have got under their belt. It is very clear from the CEO and Exec team that sustainable growth is an important focus area across the business and have clear path on how to achieve this. This filters down effectively across the relevant teams and everyone knows what the objective is. The people that I have met so far have offered their own time to bring me up to speed and show me the ropes which I am grateful for. The induction day was very insightful and I met a lot of new people from the other offices which opened my eyes into how big this business truly is but also the power of a household brand. The offices are modern buildings with easy access from both motorways, so commuting in is straightforward and most importantly, I always get a parking space. It's an exciting time for the RAC, with ambitious growth targets but I am excited to be here and have no doubt that I will have many personal and career development opportunities here.
Cons
Due to the length of time the RAC has been operating (129 years), there is ALOT of data, in so many guises and platforms which does make it slightly overwhelming if you aren't used to having multiple data sources, as some data is conflicting. This could be seen as an opportunity though to bring it all into one place and improve accuracy. There could be more done on internal promotion of products and incentives, a lot of people are unaware there is a staff discount for a few of our products, if they knew about it then perhaps they would use our services more. We should be advocates for our own products and word of mouth and recommendations are powerful marketing tools.
