Pros

Great pay structure compared to anywhere you will see in AZ. They make sure to keep you fed if you let them know. If you don’t that’s your fault. Managers are funny and helpful most of the time and GM is actively involved in the day to day which is nice, but definitely off putting if you are not used to it. He is critical and hard, but he is just trying to help. I don’t think he knows it’s intimidating coming from one in his position. He’s a GM that doesn’t see himself as a removed more important person than you. Other sales people will cover for you when you are sick or just need help as long as you ask. Never worked at a dealership where when you are off sick others text you to see if you are ok. Service techs are really nice and help you with whatever you need even the service writers. Head of service is hilarious. Nice facility, nice staff. Finance managers actually will help you if you strategize with them, but agin they are not psychic. These guys will have you laughing. They go full regalia.

Cons

Now I’m not saying selling cars was a bad idea, but I think this time life balance got out of whack. Next time we come back and sell full regalia. They do not flood the floor if they can help it so you will work. People do not care if they want an appt on your day off and if you still want that day off well you could lose your deal. The can and will forget to put you on the deal and that’s messed up, but it is what it is. Want a different result…show up. Inventory is low, but it’s the same everywhere, you can’t use the car wash, they are weird about parking, and the owner is like wizard of OZ.

Pros

The pay plan is probably the best of all auto dealers in Arizona, IF you are someone that sells, which is on you. The facilities are top notch, and this owner and GM actually Do behind the scenes what auto dealership should do. In other words, most dealers speak as though they take care of their facilities, customers, and inventory but they don’t. This owner does. For example, they have a detail crew and car wash crew… that’s a very big deal because car washers are NOT detailers and if you go look at all used cars on someone’s lots and compared them, then you would see that this owner treats his used cars with extreme delicate care. Also, when this owner takes in used cars, he truly truly makes sure they pass an extremely strict inspection, ALL dealers say they have to pass, but they don’t really check the vehicles. This owner does. He rejects the resale of used cars like no other. What this means is that the used cars being sold there are very high quality and dependable, there is virtually no doubt that when someone buys a used car from you, it will return with problems. The dealers tint shop is first class. When a new car comes in, they have a very large sealed garage that tint service is done. You may not think that’s. A big deal, but go look at other dealers practices, they will tint cars outside and many do. When you pay for paint protection at the is dealer, the job is done as it should be done. In other words, dealership managements don’t care and every one skips corners and doesn’t care, they just want to get paid, the quality they provide is awful. BUT THIS DEALER AND OWNER,,,, he will only settle for the best, he does not mess around. People can even watch their cars being serviced there through a glass window. Another positive is that all managers have been there since store opened, sales, service, detail manager for example… that is a big deal. Folks, this store is top class, but it’s not an easy job, it’s car sales. You absolutely have to be able to sell the facilities and team and this owners processes and expectations. You can just focus on selling a car because it’s nice, cool, low price, etc… many times you will be the higher price in town, you have to add value through other things that matter. They don’t flood the floor with staff. By far, this owner is probably the best to work for as far as adhering to his vision, there are less customer headaches to deal with because the products process and service are top notch. Other dealers you will deal with more headaches, product and staff issues etc…

Cons

Subaru customers, let’s face it, it’s like a cult. Many are not mean nor nice to you, many will allow you to do all the work then go buy somewhere else. It is what it is. Hours hours hours…. This owner actually gives you good time off, but let’s face it, you will still work 50+ hours a week and most of the time more. It’s still selling cars. It’s not for everyone and can be very immature environment in which everyone is really just out for themselves, no matter where you go, that’s the case. I made $90,000, I only left because of work life balance, too many hours to try to raise a family. Other con would be other sales staff, you may get a good team, there may be one bad seed in that team. Of course the summer heat can get to you. And it’s never fun chasing down a drive by to get them to stop to talk to you.
