Pros

Large company with good values and focus on sustainability both within the office and with corporate sustainability responsibility (Blue Water Project, United Way). Compensation for the role was fitting. You are rewarded year-end based on your performance - very fair evaluation. Management was open to providing me with a new opportunity when I was no longer happy with my current position (however only limited within the small office).

Cons

Unmotivating environment within the retail banking department with a relaxed office culture. Teammates were not happy to be there, did not enjoy their jobs, so it was hard to enjoy working there. Was not impressed with the lack of flexibility and support for moving departments.

Pros

The company has strong brand recognition and plenty of money for advertising. Products are good. Plenty of opportunities to move around.

Cons

Ultimately you need to lose your conscience if you want to succeed here. The corporate culture is riddled with heavy politics. Although there is opportunity, you need to drink the corporate Kool Aid to get ahead. Managers focus on heavy micro-managing of daily activities. There is no leeway to do things any other way. If they screw you over like they did to me, don't bother fighting in court because they'll grind you into dust. Clients are secondary to profits and policy.
