International company with some Canadian DNA

Cons

Highly political organization. Difficult to move up on merit alone.

Pros

A few really great people Hours aren't terrible

Cons

Archaic technology (still windows XP and 1 GB of RAM, 2 GB if you are lucky) Lots of backstabbing, people take credit for other people's work hoping that they will forget Poor middle management (everyone seems to be a 'head' of something, even if their maturity levels are questionable) No concrete expectations or goals, not enough developers or quants to test ideas Very cliquey, lots of politics/favoritism, also preferential treatment for Canadian employees Few opportunities doled out to newer members regardless of their abilities All opportunities immediately seized by middle management No onboarding program, was hired from a quasi-related field and given no training whatsoever No room for innovation, status quo seems to be the norm No risk taking (see above) Some of the employees are misogynistic, vulgar, and rely on nepotism Terrible insurance plans (and expensive) No sales database/infrastructure or proper documenting of client visits (everyone just uses Outlook for everything) Company uses non-anonymous forums to discuss issues, they turn into circle-jerks where everyone kisses up. A true online forum should be anonymous so that people aren't afraid to be honest. Company sent out an anonymous survey and did not share the actual results, just some 'bullet points' of focus in the future. Good companies with confidence in management would in fact aggregate the actual results and post them.
