Pros

Some analysts are great and intent on teaching and nurturing the next round of great researchers. Management will try to retain talent if they prove worthwhile.

Cons

Politics can sometimes take the place of common sense. Associate/Analyst model is broken but that is the industry as a whole

Pros

Work/life balance, not much else

Cons

There are no growth opportunities. Many associates have been in the same role for 10+ years and are stagnant. The same doesn't work for other associates with ambition or higher career goals, but management expects that you should be happy to have a job. Technology is completely outdated.

Pros

Good benefits. Unfortunately that's where it ends if you are in a sales role.

Cons

I have never seen an organization that hates the sales staff as is the case at RBC Bank. They constantly reduce the staff yearly while continue to increase the goals. While sales people constantly get reduced they will turn around and hire more audit, risk and anything else that is a cost to the company while the department (sales) that actually brings in revenue is constantly under the gun and no matter how well you do the CEO still treats you like trash.
