Pros

Treat employees well and they will treat clients well. ROI lives by this saying. Benefits that kick in on day 1, fully stocked kitchen, well structured review process that enables advancement for top performers and regular trainings to help improve skills. They don’t starve their clients for staffing and resources like some other local shops. They have multiple people working together on account strategy, they have a team that supports them from an analytics standpoint and a development team that listens and creates tools to make their lives easier and more efficient. Great experience and if I was on the client-side, I would gladly give the business to ROI.

Cons

Could be a little less process

Thank you for your feedback, I'm happy you had such a good experience here! For the past seventeen years, I've focused on creating a people-focused environment for growth, both personally and professionally, and look to extend on that with my vision for more extensive educational pairing. With that, our greatest opportunities for growth lie ahead, as we scale our teams and expertise to service an even larger number of well-known brands. Your point about 'a little less process' is well taken and I've advocated for more nimble, values-based experimentation and decision making. Best wishes in your career :).

Pros

ROI has a great culture and truly believes in and supports the company values, Be the Good, Relentlessly Pursue Excellence, Embody a Growth Mindset, and Put Others First. In my experience it is rare to find a company that so actively lives into the stated values. ROI is not a large company, so it's pretty easy to get to know many people here and without fail I have found them all to be friendly, enthusiastic, and caring professionals dedicated to delivering outstanding service. The senior management team also personally reflects the values of the company and sincerely strives to make ROI a great place to work. The environment is very open, team oriented, and high energy. It really is fun to come to work each day.

Cons

Being a small company limits some of the opportunities to work in different parts of the country.

Some good, some bad

Pros

- Good benefits (health insurance, 401K, decent PTO) - Nice office building (kitchen, gym, standing desks) - Free snacks - Generous supply room for any office needs - Good people to work with - Management tries to be open to feedback usually - Great training opportunities - Increased focus on diversifying workplace

Cons

- Majority first-time managers - Low salary comparative to industry (Claim it's commensurate but also base a full work week on over 40 hours and include your bonus as part of it. Could easily find other jobs doing less and getting paid more in the same area and field) - Inconsistency in salary structures (some people are hourly and time is constantly micro-managed, some people are salaried and come and go or take breaks however they please. Understand the legal HR requirements, but company uses this to their advantage to 'nickel and dime' hourly employees) - Clients first, senior leadership second, middle-management third, "individual contributor" employees dead last...in every possible way - Performance review process and bonus system needs major work and every time it's redone employees are used as guinea pigs (would be better off to bring in an experienced consultant, do a lot of research, scratch the current process, and start fresh with a well known system instead of some unaccredited homemade system)

Thank you for sharing your feedback! I’m happy to hear that you’re feeling great about our benefits, commitment to learning/development and focus on diversity and inclusion. I personally feel lucky to work at a company so committed to those things. I’m sorry to hear your concerns about feeling valued because the people who work at ROI are what makes this place so great! I would love to sit down with you and discuss some of your feedback in person so I can better understand the context around your perspective. As both a manager and a member of the Senior Management Team, I can assure you that we value ALL our employees tremendously. You mentioned compensation and I’d like to share some additional context. We continue to conduct annual benchmarking (using a variety of external, data-driven resources) to update compensation to ensure it aligns with the market. In regards to the performance review process, the system we have been using for the past two years, as well as what will be the new system later this year, were both built based on a combination of academic and organizational research. Of course, there are many, many types of performance management systems and some are better suited for certain industries and business models than others. While our current system follows best practices, we feel we can build an even better fit for our particular business. I’m excited to communicate those changes later this quarter. In the meantime, if you have specific questions or concerns, please come to my Open Office Hours so we can chat through those :) Best, Barbara
