Pros

If you're desperate for a job out of college they will hire you. There is always room for more drones willing to make minimum wage copying and pasting Excel sheets. That's honesty the only pro there is.

Cons

Literally everything. Like many others, I got sold on the broken promises of better "work/life balance" compared to Big 4. But having worked at both, can confirm that RSM is no different. 70+ hour work weeks, travel every other day to the most random places on earth, and below minimum wage salary. Say goodbye to your mental/physical health and any form of social life. The only major difference is that you will actually make even LESS money to work here, for a smaller name on your resume, making things harder when you're inevitably ready to leave in a year (if you can even survive that long). If you're a recent college grad entering the world of public accounting because you have no other choice, just take the higher pay and better name on your resume at a Big 4. Do not believe the lies about better "culture" at a smaller firm. I've been gone from this place for over 2 years and still have nightmares.

Pros

A lot of online training material available to use anytime you want

Cons

Senior manager is the worst person ever. He is only looking to become partner. Doesn't care about the jobs he is on or the clients that are his. Barely shows up to meet clients. If there is no senior or manager on a job, you have to take ownership. Not a low level staff who doesn't know the ABC of auditing.

Pros

Truthfully, there are very few good reasons to work at this company. If you are spending the time working do not waste your time here, this will be the job you remove from your resume.

Cons

RSM is a second tier firm and unfortunately their clients treat RSM like a second tier firm. It is one thing to move to a second tier firm and get a big boost in pay (you won't get this either) but it is another to move to a second tier firm and be treated like you work at a second tier firm. The culture is an "old boys club" and if you are not white and a bit overweight you will not be accepted. The company does not retain top talent, top talent comes and leaves very quickly. Very high matriculation. Lack of methodology and support, training is outsourced, computers provided are very cheap, the office supplies are minimal, don't expect any type of swag, be prepared to sign your life away for a thumb drive.
