Pros

Generous PTO policy, interaction with client at staff level

Cons

It's a new office so some growing pains are inevitable, but there are systemic problems in senior management. Leadership inflexible about scheduling PTO during busy season and other times of the year, even when staff experience physical and mental stress from job. Senior manager doesn't show face at client and takes personal time off while staff forced to run the job. Office uses resources for perks and to locate in the city rather than better training its less experienced staff. Little to no on-the-job support from senior management to help setup staff for success. Senior manager delays work reviews creating a backlog of work for staff and then blames staff for blowing the budget. Senior manager plays favorites and uses scare tactics to convince former staff to stay at the company.

Pros

Consulting, variety of projects, can be flexible depending on your team, nice office, some really great people work here. Committed to charitable causes.

Cons

Really poor leadership in TMC across the board. Almost no communication from senior TMC leadership. Not many career opportunities. Annual review period is way too long. Self evals start at the beginning of April. Pay raises take effect in October. Training and educational resources are tough to get approved. Talented people don't seem to stay long.

Pros

Some good people here, but there are everyone and quite honestly they didn't stack up to the Big 4 or boutique consulting firms I have worked for in the past. As with most big firms, there are opportunities to learn and network.

Cons

Short-term view of the world. As with most firms, they'll do everything to protect/benefit the partnership at all costs - if you're not one then you're on the chopping block at all times. They are bleeding cash due to horrendous audit revenues this year. Do a search for "Deepwater Horizon & McGladrey" - maybe clients are waking up. They are not a Big firm - they are an amalgamation of lots of little firms and their horrendous internal systems and processes show that. They constantly pay less than market rates - they reneged on a promised bonus for me and low-balled every person I hired for my team. Finally, their medical plan is just awful.
