Pros

There is a five-word minimum.

Cons

RSM has zero concerns about its employees at the human level. Every year, every quarter, every month, every week, the partners get greedier and greedier and demand that everyone else become more profitable, by which they mean making more money for them, but they offer no resources or guidance on how to do that. Somehow, in their deluded minds, they have come to believe that this is an "opportunity" for the rest of us. The only people who succeed at this company are the ones who thrive in toxic environments; backstabbers and bullies who have no qualms about exploiting the people around them to get ahead.

Pros

The people, hands down. RSM has some very talented individuals and I feel very fortunate to say that I go into work each day looking forward to interacting with my coworkers.

Cons

Wages are not exactly adequate with demand for chargeable hours. At times the firm promotes "balance" by encouraging employees to take time away from the office, but in reality, there is no possible way to meet the administrative parts of the job, meet charge hour goals, and have time away from the office. Many firms have optional or part-time Fridays during the Summer... this is not the case at RSM. In fact, quite the opposite has been occurring this year (I have worked the past two weekends in July on both Saturdays and Sundays to make up for time missed during the week for life events when in most other situations, PTO would have been the route to take).

Pros

I liked the culture of RSM besides my team. They have lots of groups that you can join.

Cons

The smaller consulting teams management (I was Financial Investigations and Disputes in Philly) is mainly white egotistical old fashioned men. They do not do a good job of training (unless you’re audit or tax) and expect perfection. They only focus on the negatives and no matter how many positives there are, the negatives will always outweigh them. I was micromanaged by my career advisor, who wasn’t even technically my manager but was very degrading towards me. They do not have a good work-life balance either, the team expects you to be there by 8:30 and won’t let you leave until the partner leaves. Micromanaging, upper management is very old fashioned, if you don’t suck up you won’t get far.
