Pros

Salary rate is better than east and west coasts for the same position. Comparable benefit package. Enjoyed 9/80 bi-weekly hours. Excellent workout facilities. Family members are welcome to join the gym.

Cons

It is a matrix management organization divided to functional and program organizations. However, functional division causes departments to become short-sighted and provincial, leading to incompatible work styles and poor communication. There is little communication between functional and program orgganizations. IF you are brought in to work with functional organization, you will be surprised in having difficulty to fined a long term assignment within the programs. There is always a fear of being laid off if you are not part of a program org. Functional managers have difficulty to keep their employee employed. The company is moving away from engineering inovation and diversification. The bulk of business is reduced to product maintenance and depot. There is little room for new design and development. Performance evaluations are full of harsh criticism. It is not a positive environment to work and build your career.

Pros

Work life balance is great. Get the job done, but on your schedule. Salary and benefits are good. Feel like your doing something meaningful.

Cons

Work with ancient technology. Can't upgrade, can't try out anything new. Advancement seems to be based on quotas, or time served, but certainly not on contribution. Encouraged to develop homogeneous code. New ideas are not appreciated. Spin a lot of time on framework code.
