Pros

Raytheon NCS is a stable place to work. There is an optional 9/80 schedule where you work 80 hours in 9 days, meaning every other Friday is off. Benefits are good and as long as you get on a good project you'll be satisfied.

Cons

Raytheon NCS, like most defense companies, generally uses older mature technologies. If you're into learning new technolgy, this is not the place for you. Raises and profit sharing are pathetic. If you're unlucky enough to get put on a bad project, you'll work long hours with no overtime.

Good Opportunities, Bureaucracy abounds

Pros

With such a big company, advancement opportunities are definitely available for capable employees. There is a good work-life balance and competitive compensation.

Cons

You can definitely feel pressure to "drink the kool-aid" so to speak. The corporate mottos and buzz words can make you feel like you're in a propaganda machine.

Pros

Being such a large company, Raytheon offers many opportunities for growth and career development. The talent is top-notch, and innovators in systems engineering and process.

Cons

It is difficult to emerge and experience opportunities outside of DoD. There still seems to be an "old guard" feel to the company, especially on the large Navy contracts.
