Best place to work

Pros

From day one you will be introduced to a great culture not many companies can achieve. Everyone is very inviting, hardworking and always ready to help out. With monthly company meetings and a goal setting process you always know how your contributions relate to the big picture, no matter what department you work in. Management is not only open to new ideas and interested in your opinion, they highly encourage feedback. Radio Flyer is truly a great place to work, I feel very lucky to be part of a unique team that brings smiles to kids of all ages.

Cons

The location could be challenging for some, but the awesome facilities (modern, open workspace with sit to stand desks) and the lush backyard with our own veggie garden makes up for it!

Pros

All Flyers attend regular all-hands company meetings. These meetings are transparent and give all Flyers access to important business information, and drive the purpose of our work and the tangible results. The company is welcoming, and makes a noticeable effort to make all employees feel welcome and included. The company puts value in eating together, by hosting regular company lunches, offering subsidized in-office food choices and creating a warm, comfortable café space, where Flyers choose to eat together instead of eating alone at a desk. This is such a small thing, but allows various cross-departmental employees to interact on a regular basis. It encourages entry level employees to get to know senior leaders. It creates a family environment, where everyone knows one another, feels comfortable collaborating, sharing mistakes and asking for help.

Cons

The workload is heavy for most positions, due to small team sizes and a selective hiring process that often leads to longer lead times in hiring for open roles. Having more employees would give Flyers the time to do more creative, innovative work.

Truly A Great Place to Work

Pros

Radio Flyer has a world class culture, where feedback is encouraged and appreciated and everyone works together towards a common cause (bringing smiles to kids of all ages through our products). The office is consistently recognized as a top workspace in Chicago, with a large outdoor space and awesome cafe to eat lunch in. There is even a fridge full of food catered by Whole Foods that is subsidized by Radio Flyer. There are always fellow Flyers eating in the cafe together on any given day and you get to know each of them. You get to work with people who care, and are willing to go the extra mile when asked of them. People are often recognized at company meetings and milestone life events are celebrated (getting married, having kids). Senior management listens to feedback and are approachable. Everyone lives by our Vision Mission and Values and it is truly a great place to work!

Cons

Location can be tricky via public transportation.
