Pros

Elaborate thought went into the systems and processes to make the position you’re in as easy and “doable” as possible. Anyone can learn how to do anything, at any time. This makes for a job you can feel comfortable in if you are a hard worker who takes pride in the effort they exude at work.

Cons

Confusing titles/position chart, can easily become inefficient when too many “leaders” discourage the crew from wanting to perform well because of constant over-analyzation of things like individual performance. Also lack of awareness of true talent (I was hired after answering one question during the interview, only to have peers in the same position who don’t seem nearly as qualified or enthusiastic). Also management can easily become blind to their truly talented crew members, because of their extreme dedication to protecting their own role and/or favoritism. If you aren’t willing to play the “but I’m your favorite” game, don’t expect anyone to remember your name, no matter how perfectly you run your shift/zone/task etc. To make a mistake can easily turn you into the person that no one trusts or believes in because your mistake made them have to answer to someone above them, leading them to protect themselves rather than support/develop you the same as they do their favorites.
