Pros

Slice encourages all employees and interns to do whatever they need to do to grow as an individual. We are encouraged to share our knowledge with our team and the company. Every single employee is critical to the success of our company and you can immediately see the impact of your work on a daily basis. The work is interesting and stimulating. The employees are brilliant and fun to be around. People work hard during the day but take vacations and are not expected to answer emails in the evening or on the weekends. Excellent work/life balance. Very happy about the recent announcement of Caltrain GoPasses - free train passes for all employees!

Cons

Benefits are on par with other small Bay Area tech companies. They have been improving recently and hopefully they will become the best in the Bay Area!

Excellent company and team!

Pros

Working on a never before seen data set (the largest cross-merchant purchase graph) and lots of autonomy in helping shape which problems to work on. The founding team is quite experienced (they've started companies before that have been very successful). The company is so small that everyone has the opportunity to make a big impact on the business. Engineering works closely with business and product. If you want to get the full picture of what it takes to build a successful business and make a HUGE impact, this is the place to be. If you just want to be a small cog in a big machine, this is not the place to be.

Cons

No free lunches (though walking distance from some great restaurants in downtown Palo Alto)

Ok job. Bad commute and office.

Pros

Interesting work. Good work/life balance (if you don't include the insane Palo Alto traffic). Management, while they don't seem to care about the pro's below, are generally nice folks.

Cons

Byzantine attitude towards remote work. Operations operates like a separate company reporting to a manager that has no flexibility. As a result, working with operations is difficult, painful and inefficient for the company. Very crowded and noisy office. Hard to actually get work done. The traffic getting in and out of Palo Alto is absolutely horrendous. No parking near office. Must park on residential streets a mile away. Management doesn't seem to see the benefit of investing in infrastructure. Management doesn't seem to care about above issues.
